FAIR HAVEN, Vt. The second half belonged to the Hartford High boys basketball team in a VPA Division II showdown at Fair Haven on Tuesday night. The Hurricanes erased a seven-point halftime deficit to beat the host Slaters, 57-51, in a potential postseason preview.
Hartford’s Brandon Potter drew the assignment of guarding Fair Haven star Kohlby Murray and Potter was more than up to the task, holding Murray to just 13 points. Potter countered that with 13 points of his own to settle that battle at a draw.
Hotel job fair in downtown Montgomery on Wednesday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Ascent Hospitality will host a career fair on Wednesday.
The fair will be in the MLK Ballroom at the DoubleTree hotel at 120 Madison Ave. in downtown Montgomery. It will run from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday.
Organizers say the fair will cover all hotel positions, including font desk, housekeeping, restaurant, bar, room service, sales, management engineering and maintenance. There are full-time and part-time positions available.
Qualified candidates will be offered positions on the spot, organizers say.
R. Michael Triplett died suddenly at home March 1, 2021. He was born Oct. 23, 1951, to Normal and Mildred Taylor Triplett in Dayton, Ohio. He then attended Wright State University, where he earned his BA in social and industrial communications, minoring in classics, in 1991, and later earned his master’s degree in human resources counseling.
